Sounds like a nice place you live in Fours! Not sure about horses but Whisky & Country Music definitely float my boat

Anniversary! WOW Congrats. Sounds like y'all had a good time. TN is great. I wish we had more snow & less humidity. We ARE known for our horses ... that whiskey & oh, country music... I'm so glad y'all had a nice time. Maybe on your next trip out we can get together again.

We went to Nashville again, although this time 4AM and I didn't meet up. We did a little sightseeing, toured the Ryman Auditorium, went to the Opry one night, celebrated our 46th anniversary on a riverboat dinner show cruise, looked at several areas with the thought of moving to TN next year, we went to a fall festival on a farm famous for breeding walking horses (I know, don't all horses walk?), spent time with our son and his SO who live in the area, spent time with friends, except 4AM, got rained on really hard while driving on the freeway, and one day it was pretty windy. We met some great people too. It seems like TN is full of happy, friendly people.

Have a good time, Gis. I went to Turkey once, about 15 years ago. About this time of year, lovely weather.

I can't remember exactly where we stayed but flew into Antalya airport and about an hour from there

We should trade pictures this year. What about you, Dan?
We don't get snow, we don't get ice, we feel excited if we get rain. That's down here in the coastal plain. The mountains surrounding the Los Angeles Basin get snow, sometimes lots. In the winter of '22-'23 we had friends that got snowed in for 11 days. They have a home in the San Bernardino Mountains at 5700' elevation. That's at the low end of the San Bernardinos. On the high end at Big Bear Lake, a very popular area, it's over 1,000 ft. higher. People died around there due to the enormous snowpack.

Nice that y'all go out got away. So Scotland is how far in hours from u? And GIS, he's there, right? Yep, love this Fall weather. Today will be 87 - our LAST hot day of the year, I think.
Yes, Fours, I did know about the book shops before we went.

Scotland is around three and a half to four hours from us depending on which route you take. To travel up the west side of England via the M6 road is abouyt thirty minutes less than taking the A1 road along the eastern side. Scotland's two main cities Edinburgh and Glasgow are about 40 miles from the border. Gis lives a lot further north than those, I'd guess it would take 6 hours without a stop to drive from our house to his

I would've thought that y'all would've had a lot of snow you're so much higher up than we are but that sounds exactly like us IF we get snow It's usually a good three or four day snow about every four years otherwise we get three or four dustings ~but here as you can imagine we get more ice and no one can drive on that not here anyway it's a big cluster. The schools will shut down just in anticipation the grocery stores run out of food the people up North laugh at us.

We don't get an enormous amount of snow, Dan. About twice during the winter we will have an odd day when it snows, often it melts the day after, sometimes lingers for 2-3 days.

On the day it does come though it causes absolute havoc on the roads. It's not too bad where we live because we are quite close to the hospital so our roads are kept fairly clear. Others who live 4/5 miles from town have it a bit worse.
