Dan - did u know that the plant that exploded was within 60 miles of u? "by the way the crow flies" prolly closer. Sad, very sad.

My wife heard it. She thought something fell against the house!

Getting the decking replaced today, old and rotten, lasted 20 years, so, the new stuff will last my lifetime

A few days ago I found a walking stick crawling on a rake handle. First one I've ever seen in person! Very cool!

Walking stick insects are fascinating, and they're a good example of the unique insects found in different regions.

That had me wondering GIS, YB - do y'all have anything like this over there? poisonous spiders, deadly snakes ... wild animals running loose?

Nothing like that here, we can get adder snakes, but, they'd slither away if seen

OH MG. if you've ever seen what their bite can do -- well I'm terrified. We've had MANY in this house. It was empty 2 years before we moved in, built in 1968...we don't if it was that or new landscaping, new garage that we built or turning the attached garage into a den. After 2 years BAM! SOMETHING ...

Love the Y'all!!!Kevin would have fainted on the spot. Those & snakes. The worst thing for me are spiders, wolf spiders. PLEASE be aware of Brown Recluse. We have them wait 'til ladybug season! -- ticks, rattlesnakes, cottonmouth --

We've heard stories about the brown recluse spiders. Our neighbor was just telling my wife tonight about finding more than a dozen recently when he was cleaning his windows (his AC was out for a couple of days, so he opened his windows).

Been away for a few days, had friends over from the USA and also a boys weekend golfing, so, back to normal now, we got plenty rain now

about to start on the deck again now that the weather is turning cooler. Can't wait.
