Richard Osman - We Solve Murders. This man started as a TV presenter before producing his first book about five years ago. The first four were all about the Thursday Murder Club, a group of old people who become involved in murder investigations. All very good, not only me thinking so because there is to be a Netflix film due out later this year. It will feature Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan among others do no shortage of big names. At this stage I'm not sure if it is a one only movie or a series of several episodes. Neither do I know if it will feature one book or will be a story featuring the characters. Anyway, moving on, We Solve Murders is a different set of characters, very different and very good. His next book goes back to the Thursday Murder Club
Danuta Kot - Life Ruins. This is not completely new but I have been searching for books by this author for a few years and have now found her, she used to write under the name Danuta Reah
Brian Freeman - Break Every Rule. It's a standalone, not Jonny Stride but very good.
From my trip away in October plus Christmas presents I now have quite a lot (12 ish) "old" books on my pile. These are mainly by authors who I have read recently but I am now going back to some of their earlier works, mainly in the 1990's / 2000's.
I am now on with Cut to Black by Graham Hurley, one of the Faraday & Winter series which I like a lot
