Finished "The Steel Kiss" a Lincoln Rhyme book at lunch yesterday. I enjoyed it...and I wasn't a fan of escalators before...definitely NOT going on them now!!

Started "How to Be a Hepburn in a Kardashian World" that I picked up at the used book store.

The Third Rule : sounds good to me w/ DNA confirmation & conviction - maybe ONE appeal. Doesn't it just bum you out to get a so-so book? I've been moving away from my Eve Duncan series; they're just getting... so-so. I'll look into The Drifter ....

In for the kill - Ed James. Simon Fenchurch series. set in London. I have read others in this series, very good

The third rule - Andrew Barrett. Different! A new government has decided to sort out the law and order situation once and for all. Serious offences like murder, rape, crimes against young children lead to instant execution. No ten and more year appeals, out of court and into the chamber. Minor offences, burgulary etc, minimum 5 years in prison. No time off for good behavior, bad behavior leads to an increase in the jail term. No cosy cells with TV etc. A second offence is more of the same, a third offence- instant execution. A bit extreme but the theory is that it would be a better place for all the law abiding citizens. within a year all the really bad guys are gone and the averagely bad guys are in jail. What do you all think?

Hard fall - P T Reade. New author to me, Ok but I doubt I'll be seeking out any more by this author

Phyrne Fisher Investigates - Kerry Greenwood. Set in 1920's Australia. Easy reading. There is also a TV series which has been on UK TV earlier this year

Terminus - Pete Bassett. OK, see Hard fall above

The comforts of home - Susan Hill. Latest in the Simon Serrailler series. A bit slow but OK

The drifter - Nick Petrie. The front cover of the book contains a quote from Lee Child. "Lots of characters get compared to my own Jack Reacher, but Peter Ash is the real deal" This book is only a couple of years old, there are two more in the series which I will be looking for.

Missing - Ed James. One of the newer authors who seem to do kindle only books. This is the first in the Craig Hunter series, he has written two other series previously. This type of author seem to produce several books a year, unlike the more established authors for whom one a year seems to be normal.

I tried reading Stormy Daniels' book, it was unlike anything I've ever read before and read it up until the chapter dealing with her liaison with Mr. T. I've never read any of the 50 Shades of Grey books but I have a hunch that they would pale in comparison to the porn video industry, really sleazy, although Ms. Daniels loved horses so she wasn't all about porn. She was hoping that Trump could get her on The Apprentice but that didn't happen. Seems it was a one night stand, she didn't say much more about him than was put about on the media - she did describe unmentionable parts if anyone was interested. Yuck!
