As we (along with Reacher) study the copy hanging in Jody's apartment, we learn that it's a proper copy with proper brush strokes.
I guess I can understand the appeal to Reacher given his abstract fascination with math and related precision, and that Mondrian was in Paris producing art as WWII was beginning in Europe. Maybe Reacher's mother even met him. Maybe she liked his work and Reacher absorbed some of that appreciation. Or maybe I'm just fooling myself and I don't understand it at all. I suppose one of these is hanging in one of Lee's homes, or perhaps there's one in each of his homes. Maybe he has a whole damn room full.
