Science fiction

Was really bored and was flicking through programs on the telly, started watching a sci/fi movie, couldn't understand what the heck was going on, maybe I was too far into the movie to catch on, then flicked to another channel and another one about a 500 mph storm. Some man was climbing a tower and then fiddling with an attachment on the wall in the pouring rain, then he phones some other people and feeds them a bunch of numbers which will stop whatever is happening, it stops then carries on. Wasn't enough to hold my attention but I'm sure they would get the storm stopped at some point. I think the one movie was called Battleship. I really must try harder to get with the program!

I'm not a big sci-fi fan but maybe that's because I was never good with science in school so when they cover all that in the story I'm just lost!
