Letter Game

So, as we had in the previous forum, here's a letter game but with a twist, the trick here is that you have to replace one letter to replace the word in the same place

Lets see how we get on, we can always change it back

Mo, we changed the rules, you gotta change a letter in its original position, so, for Hoons it would be Hoots

Is that short for "hoonigan"? Which is similar to a hooligan?

Maybe I'm not understanding what the rule is - you can't change it around and have to keep more or less to the same word but a letter changed within its current structure, not just the first letter? Have I got that right?
